Hi! I'm Dirk, a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Northumbria University in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, co-founder of the Tech4Animals Lab, and an Expert Fellow with the SPRITE+ Network.

I work at the intersection of requirements engineering, cyberpsychology, and animal-computer interaction. My main research interest is understanding how people build and use information systems in unexpected ways, and how this impacts the lives and livelihoods of its users (in particular interspecies information systems).
